Why it came home: we saw the most beautiful work by Fransden at a friends house. From then on have been obsessed but he is collectable and expensive now going into the tens of thousands of so we have had to search very hard almost every day to find anything that comes up at auction by him that is affordable. With this beautiful painting on aluminium we really lucked out. We bought it as part of a pair with the yellow still life. They look great hung together but equally happy on their own. They really pack a punch.
